In Linwei, Xiandian Town, Wuyishan City, mention the name Axin and tea farmers will nod in respect. This tea master, who has devoted twenty years to rock tea, uses his rough yet skillful hands to preserve the traditional craft of Wuyi rock tea.
Axin was born into a family of tea farmers, with generations dedicated to growing and making tea. As a youth, he followed his father into the gardens, learning to pick, wither, oxidize, and roast. At the time, he didn't realize these seemingly tedious steps would accompany him for a lifetime.
"Making tea is like living life — it requires patience and attention to detail." These words from his father have guided Axin for twenty years. From selecting gardens and picking leaves to mastering the fire, he personally oversees every step, never slacking.
Over two decades, Axin has explored every major garden in Wuyi Mountain, knowing the soil and climate of each one intimately. He understands that Zhengyan tea excels in rock bone, while Banyan tea shines in fragrance. Only by respecting the uniqueness of each terroir can one produce tea with true soul.
Today, Axin founded Fupin Tea, hoping to share his love for rock tea with more people. He says: "Tea is alive. From a single leaf to a cup of tea, it embodies the spirit of the mountain, the heart of the tea maker, and the perception of the drinker."
A cup of rock tea, a journey of life. Axin's story continues.
